WATTx is looking for a strong and experienced CTO for its newest venture: A start-up that uses Deep Learning to build the next generation of machine vision in the manufacturing space.

We are developing an AI box that uses deep learning for image classification to solve the most complex tasks in quality control, process monitoring and sorting in a fully-automated way. Our solution allows to handle use cases that are currently not possible for traditional machine vision companies. In addition, our technology reduces the time it takes to calibrate the software by 10x, creating a whole new demand for machine vision systems. Our solution uses exciting technologies at the intersection of data science and embedded hardware.

You will be leading the company as CTO, working on state-of-the-art machine vision and artificial intelligence in an industrial setting.


  • Working together with the CEO and develop a technical strategy for the company
  • Leading the technical team of the venture
  • Developing backend infrastructure, applications on the edge, and Deep Learning algorithms for machine vision
  • Communicating with customers at the right abstraction level


  • Extensive work experience in leading technical teams
  • Extensive experience in data science and machine learning
  • Extensive experience with Python and its open-source data science ecosystem (numpy, scipy, pandas, scikit-learn, etc.).
  • Fundamental understanding and practical experience with Deep Learning and popular frameworks (for example Tensorflow, Keras, Caffe, Theano, Torch)
  • Experience with embedded hardware and knowledge of the Linux operating system, especially developing, testing, and optimizing hardware accelerated algorithms
